Kephart Final Proposal

For my final project, I would like to photograph creative portrait images. I intend to photograph people, but instead with a creative spin on it. I want to photograph this subject because I have always found it one of the most beautiful and interesting types of photography. Through portraits, you can feel a sense of who the person in the image is and that makes this project important for me. Everyone is different in the way they look, their personality traits, and who they are, and I want to capture this. The millions of different ways someone can take a basic portrait and make it creative amazes me. I think the possibilities for this subject are endless and I know that I would be able to come up with many ideas for this project as well. 
Through the final weeks of class, I plan to come up with many different ideas for my portraits, for example, using different objects, people, and lighting. I will also look through my photographs through each week and see which had the best feedback and responses and which did not. I will constantly revisit my previous images to find better ways of using lighting, posing my subjects, backgrounds, and trying different camera settings for my creative portraits. Portraits are one of the most popular types of photography, so setting myself apart from others will be one of my goals throughout my final assignment. I will do this by using different lightings, backgrounds, posing my model in different ways, and using different techniques to have different effects on each photograph. My goal is to have the audience resonate with the image and truly get an understanding of who the subject is. 

I think one of the biggest challenges I may face is trying to find different or enough people to photograph each week with schedules that work with mine. It could also be a challenge to find people who are comfortable in front of the camera, but I believe both these challenges will be obstacles I will be able to overcome.

Devon Barthold 10 Style Photos

Dennis Hopper Born May 17th 1936, he started taking art classes when he was 13. He started out as an actor but he developed a bad reputation for being a difficult actor, he turned to photography in the 1960’s.  He used a Nikon 33 mm camera that his wife gave him for his birthday. He took a lot of monochrome photographs and when he photographed in color he focused in on the way the colors worked together. He has captured many politically driven photographs but he has also captured many portraits of friends and the people around him in life. He liked to colors as an abstract design and would often photograph graffiti from the gangs in Los Angeles. 1/ what do you intend to photograph? I want to capture the real identity of different people. I want to photograph people when they are doing something in their bedrooms. I will start by asking questions: what you usually do in your bedroom. I want to find out the unknown sides of them. So I will mainly focus on my close friends who I have known for a while and find out either dark, crazy, weird sides by asking questions. will use a wide-angle lens trying to show their personality through the room decorations. My subjects might not look at the camera. And I hope they are comfortable with what they are doing like there is without a camera and outside observer. 2- why do you want to photograph the subject?
