Final Project Proposal
I intend to photograph my loved ones and those close to me. I want to go into wedding photography, which are photos that exude a feeling of love and happiness. I want to photograph my friends and family in a way that makes people feel happy and see them through my eyes. I want to try and photograph these people in different ways. Some of the photos may be more formal, while some may be more candid. I also want to have some photos be singular portraits, while others include multiple people together. I think that having both will show not only my relationship with the subject(s) but also how they interact with others. I want to photograph my loved ones and those who affect my daily life because they are the most important people to me and I want to capture that feeling of importance through various images. I plan to start out with a few different environmental portraits and group photos of my family and friends and then build off different techniques to try and capture them in a more professional or a more creative way. I think that I will start with more simple images and try to repeat the same subjects from a different perspective after each critique. I think other people will be drawn to my photos because of the positive feelings they give off and because people are always drawn to the intricacies of the human face. I also plan to try and capture my loved ones in a creative way that makes the viewer think about who they are and want to know more. I already know that my biggest challenge is going to be getting my subjects to take time out of their days to let me photograph them. This has been especially hard recently with the earlier sunsets. I know I will need to improve on asserting myself and planning more specific details about my photos ahead of time. I hope that through this project I will not only build on my existing skills and have some meaningful photos to show for it, but that I will also improve myself as a photographer, learn some new techniques, and get closer to where I need to be to pursue photography in a professional setting.
