Linda Foard Roberts
Linda Foard Roberts is a photographer based out of North Carolina. Her love for photography began when she was just fifteen years old after taking a class in high school. Her work is extremely personal and show many images of those close to her. Her largest project, Passage, was a recollection of her photographs over the span of ten years. Roberts makes her images poetic, and makes the viewer feel something through the image. Through her work, she shows the effects time has on the things that she photographed and the cycle of life and death. Her work can be described as timeless, delicate, and even romantic. She photographs images of people she is close to as well as old relics and her surroundings, most specifically trees that look whimsical. She captures these types of images uses a 8" x 10" and a 5" x 7" cameras with old lenses to create her style, and make silver gelatin images. Roberts also enjoys creating circular images as well. Her photographs are very contrasting monochrome images that have a shallow depth of field. Linda Roberts published her first monograph in 2016, has had exhibits throughout the world, and has won many awards for her photography.
