Belser Final Proposal

For my final project, I would like to photograph tattoos. Ever since I got my tattoos, I have been interested in them. I love looking at what other people choose to cover their bodies with. I think you can get to know a very deep, intimate side of a person through their tattoos. I intend to capture this beauty in photos (monochrome?), some showcasing their entire bodies/a wider shot, and other closer, macro shots showcasing the craftsmanship and beauty of the tattoo itself. I intend to attempt various methods of photographing tattoos, including different apertures, studio lighting, natural lighting, color, monochrome, etc . I think the viewer will appreciate my photos greatly. I will be showcasing intimate parts of humans and the marks on their skin. Humans are typically attracted to skin, and I think, if done right, my project will have no problem gathering and keeping the attention of a wide variety of viewers. I also think the variability in both the skin, the ink, and the type of shot is enough variability to keep the viewer interested in my project and to not bore them. I am anticipating running out of subjects I know well enough to photograph, which means I will have to branch out of my comfort zone by asking strangers/people I do not know very well to photograph them. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, as this is a part of photography that I definitely need to work on.

Devon Barthold 10 Style Photos

Dennis Hopper Born May 17th 1936, he started taking art classes when he was 13. He started out as an actor but he developed a bad reputation for being a difficult actor, he turned to photography in the 1960’s.  He used a Nikon 33 mm camera that his wife gave him for his birthday. He took a lot of monochrome photographs and when he photographed in color he focused in on the way the colors worked together. He has captured many politically driven photographs but he has also captured many portraits of friends and the people around him in life. He liked to colors as an abstract design and would often photograph graffiti from the gangs in Los Angeles. 1/ what do you intend to photograph? I want to capture the real identity of different people. I want to photograph people when they are doing something in their bedrooms. I will start by asking questions: what you usually do in your bedroom. I want to find out the unknown sides of them. So I will mainly focus on my close friends who I have known for a while and find out either dark, crazy, weird sides by asking questions. will use a wide-angle lens trying to show their personality through the room decorations. My subjects might not look at the camera. And I hope they are comfortable with what they are doing like there is without a camera and outside observer. 2- why do you want to photograph the subject?
